Therese Halbach Education Memorial

About THEM

The Therese Halbach Education Memorial corporation is a non-profit corporation established in Therese’s name to fund education and student grants within local school districts.
Therese was called home early after a courageous battle with cancer. She lived her life with class, dignity, and a desire to help young people achieve their dreams. She inspired the young to achieve their goals by working hard and furthering their education.

Therese was on the St. Ansgar Dollars for Scholars board for many years and believed such fund raising efforts removed financial burdens and helped students achieve their goals.

Shortly before her death on January 29, 2003, she asked Ed, her husband, to continue her work helping young people. With coaxing from friends, Ed formed this corporation. His intent is to further honor Therese by carrying out her wishes to help create financial opportunities for the young people in the area.

The corporation commenced its activities by hosting the first annual Therese Halbach Memorial Golf Outing on July 30, 2004, at the Cedar River Country Club in Adams, MN. The outing has been held annually since. To date, THEM has awarded over $80,000 in college scholarships.
